36 1/2 Weeks

I had a doctor's appointment today and found out I am already 2 cm dialated, and 50% effaced! I am feeling a few different emotions, mostly giddy, but a little apprehensive as well. I can't believe the time is almost here. I think she'll be early and my doc agree's. But who knows, you can never predict baby's plans! The movements really hurt. I have a hard time driving. And I have been told I have begun "nesting" (attempting to get my "nest" ready for baby). Well, not much longer left, as baby is considered full term at 37 weeks...

35 Weeks

Only 35 days to go!!! I can't believe my little angel will be here in 5 weeks! Things are progressing as the should. I still pee 8 times a night (apparently my body's infinitely wise way of preparing me for the lack of sleep when the baby arrives). I have started to get Braxton Hicks contractions in the last few days, which are like practice contractions for the big day. My doctor's appointment's will be once a week from now on. Cyndi is coming over today to take pregnancy pictures of me today. I'll post them as soon as I can...

32 1/2 weeks...

All is well with me and baby. I had my last doctor's appointment yesterday, (Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006) and I was told baby is thriving inside me! She is measuring big, approx. 34 weeks, and weighing in at about 5 pounds! Maybe she (yes, they confirmed, it is a girl) will be born earlier than thought. The kicks and punches are quite intense. She is already amusing others as my stomach is constantly moving due to her "aerobic's". I have decided to try to work right up until she is born, partly because I'd like to spend the most time with her after, but also because of a new job I applied for. Well that's all for now. Photo taken at 32 weeks.

26 Weeks

Hey All, (or should I say Emily)
Baby is very active these days. I still can't differentiate between an elbow/knee/foot/hand etc. but it's a really neat experience. We are moving in to a 3 bedroom apartment on the third floor(!) of the building. It will be tough with Baby (and to move, get groceries, etc.) but, at least I'll get some exercise! I just want to start planning the nursery! Grandma has said she'll buy a crib, and the one I found is a four-in-one. It goes from crib, to toddler bed, to day bed, and to a double bed (with a new mattress). Grandma also bought a few more things for Baby including a high chair, swing, and jolly jumper. I went to do my glucose test the other day at 5:45 (which takes an hour and the place closed at 7:00), and the woman said they couldn't accommodate me because they might get busy! I just about started to yell at the woman (gotta love these hormones). So now my results won't get to the doctor before my appointment. Oh well, what can I do. My lower back is starting to hurt more often. I still need to call McKay College as they apparently offer pregnant women 3 free massages. Baby can now hear and recognize voices, breathe in fluid, and open her eyes. She is also sensitive to touch. New pictures to come shortly...

23 1/2 Weeks (About 5 1/2 months)

Things are progressing quite uh, abruptly, I would say. My belly is getting to be fairly large, and I still have 4 months to go! I feel the baby moving everyday. It's indescribable. I have gained more weight than I want to share, but I definately can't hide the fact that there is indeed a baby in there. I was a little insulted when I ordered coffee in a restaurant the other day, and she said she could bring me decaf. I felt lik saying, "actually, skip it, I'll get a beer." But I was nice. I bought a bunch more things at a garage sale that a girl from work gave me first dibs on. And Donnie's sister Sheri gave me 3 large bags of baby/todler clothes. I have my next doctor's appointment on the 5th of September, and then 2 weeks after that I meet the doctor who will deliver my baby, (if all goes to plan, of course). Her name is Dr. Natasha Peyton. I have registered for pre-natal classes, and am just waiting to hear back for the exact date. That's all for now. Check out the new pic!
